How it began

Saturday July 22, 2017, the day that everything changed. Just when you thought you had it all figured out. Life just kicks you in the tits.

I made a huge transformation the fall of 2016. That pushed me towards the bodybuilding world and me stepping on stage in Miami at my first NPC Figure show in June of 2017.

There I was in my bedroom when I discovered a lump in my left breast. Yes ladies it was a self exam when I discovered my tumor! Please check yourself, it could just save your life.

I remember my stomach dropping, a feeling of uncertainty now clouded my thoughts. The following Monday I would be heading out on a work trip for two weeks. I called my OBGYN on Monday morning to set up an appointment for August 4 to have the mass checked out. Till then I would be doing countless internet searches of possibilities of what this mass could be, besides a cancerous tumor. This was a long two weeks.

Finally arriving back in Atlanta I went straight to my doctor’s office. Only to have them tell me, yes there is a lump in your breast. WTF! They referred me for a mammogram, that appointment will be its own post, and referred me to my breast surgeon, Dr. Rashid, who is amazing and has been there for me since day 1.

I’m new to blogging so I will be learning as I go along. Feel free to write comments, suggestions or any questions you have. I am very open about my journey and would like to raise awareness of this disease that effects 1 in 8 women.
